Towards a stronger implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act: Proceedings of the National Workshop for SAA and Nodal Officers
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India (GoI) in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) India, organized a two-day national workshop for State Appropriate Authorities and Nodal Officers (PNDT) at ‘The Heritage', Manesar on 27-28 February, 2012, to sensitise implementing agencies under the statute and enable effective implementation of the PCPNDT Act. The specific objectives of the workshop were to re-orient Appropriate Authorities and Nodal Officers on the issue of sex selection and enhance their understanding of the provisions of the PCPNDT Act and to build capacities and develop clarity on their roles and responsibilities.
