This report is an outcome of research collaboration between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), New Delhi, the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore and the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on "Assessing the Quality of Civil Registration System Data at the District Level". The study assesses the quality of civil registration data and derives district-level estimates of vital indicators - crude birth rate, crude death rate, infant mortality rate, still birth rate, sex ratio at birth, and sex ratio at death for the year 2011.
