For full recuperation of your health from the last pregnancy and for maintaining the health of your newborn baby, it is best if you wait at least 24 months after a live birth before attempting the next pregnancy.
If you do not wish to have a child in the next few years or do not wish to have more children, there are several ways of delaying births. There is a range of contraceptive methods available at government hospitals and health centres. Some methods are also available at pharmacies, private clinics or with ASHAs.
