The Government of India introduced three new contraceptives in its public health system in 2016. UNFPA India has been assisting the Government of India in rollout of new contraceptives, including injectable contraceptives, and in ensuring high-quality services. This publication has been developed to address the questions frequently asked by health providers and managers on injectable contraceptives (DMPA). The questions contained in this document have been compiled on the basis of questions or concerns raised by providers from different states, during field-level interactions or orientation programs.
