UNFPA organized a National Conference on 'India's Elderly: Dignity, Health and Security' during 4-5 December, 2014 in collaboration with four Ministries (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Panchyati Raj) and Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India. The seminar brought together policy makers, programme implementers, experts and members of the civil society organization and federations of senior citizens at one place to deliberate issues and way forward regarding social security, health provisioning and various other aspects concerning the well being of the elderly in the country. Selected good practices implemented by state governments were also presented as cross learning. 

The proceedings of the Seminar was released by Mrs. Anita Agnihotri, Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India on 17 August in Delhi.
