Recommendations of the Consultation on Gender and Health
At a workshop held by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and National Commission for Women, the participants discussed the need for greater gender mainstreaming in health service delivery. The recommendations talk of gender sensitisation in policy, planning and monitoring services. It also mentions the importance of creating an enabling environment and advocates that planning and monitoring be gender sensitive
Violence Against Women
Health care providers are generally the only people women see in case of the physical abuse or violence. This information booklet is aimed at sensitising the service providers to violence as a public health issue, and the cause of reproductive health ailments.
Resolution adopted at the National Workshop on Violence against Women
The National Commission for Women, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund, organized a national level workshop in New Delhi in October 2004 to hold intensive discussions on the growing prevalence of violence against women and its grave consequences on their health. This is the resolution unanimously adopted by the participants at the workshop.
